I’ve been so fortunate to have a successful pregnancy on my tenth round of IVF and have now been blessed with beautiful twin boys. As I’m so busy, I rarely have time to think about the past and the find myself living in the moment more and more. This is definitely one of the positives of being a mum for me. There is a large amount of stress of course, and this is by far the hardest job I’ve ever had – but it’s also the most rewarding.
I’ve always been an over-thinker who worries about everything and everyone! Since having children, I still worry of course, but I have my priorities straight. I am more fulfilled than I could have dreamed of and am grateful every day for what I have.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget what we went through to get to this point – and I don’t dwell on it. But I can’t help thinking of all those couples still struggling to become parents and close friends who are experiencing the pain of Infertility. If we had known about a certain clinic earlier, we may have avoided many years of pain as well as the huge financial and emotional cost we had to endure. Of course, we learned a lot along the way and, ultimately , we had our babies at the right time for us – we certainly appreciate them a lot more than we would have if they’d come into our lives earlier.
So, in the hope that others can learn from our experience, I’ve decided to share some links to IVF clinics abroad that have very good success rates, excellent quality of care and also they happened to be the last clinics that some friends attended, after a very long, painful journey of trying other clinics before finding one that made their dreams come true.
Everyone will have an opinion about which clinic is best – and if they were lucky enough to have success at a certain clinic – of course that will be the one they recommend. So there are many other excellent clinics aside from the ones mentioned below, but I’m sharing these in particular as I’ve heard directly from friends about the great experience they had, after they had tried at least 2 clinics before this one and they would have loved to have known about them earlier.
The clinic in Greece I link to below, is the second Greek clinic I attended. There were several factors that brought us success in the end, including trying a few things for the first time, like the ICSI technique (which had never been necessary before but this clinic chose to do as standard practice) and a few other adjustments – and of course luck.
But I felt in great hands from the moment I stepped in the door – and like many who have gone there, my first transfer attempt at this clinic (10th transfer overall) – was a success. I hope that whichever clinic you choose, (if you’re not lucky enough to have success with our incredible NHS service of course) is the right one for you.
